HAPPY is Home Advantage with Parents as Partners for Youth, because children, families, schools and communities succeed when parents are informed, empowered and involved in the literacy lives of their children.

HAPPY has been at work in schools and communities since 2004, beginning in central Virginia in partnership with the Governor’s Office.

HAPPY grew out of one mom’s desire for more families to enjoy the benefits of reading together.

HAPPY was inspired by a broadcast journalist’s intention to help decrease the amount of bad news generated by individuals with too few skills and even less hope.

HAPPY is fueled by a professional’s passion for reading and is informed by advanced study in the science of reading, as taught by luminaries in the field of literacy instruction.

HAPPY is energy to power your teaching, your caring and your life.

HAPPY is becoming bigger and better every day.
